Pound Hill And Worth area guide

The Pound Hill and Worth area was originally a hamlet in the parish of Worth but with the development of the new town, work began on building homes in the area in 1953. Pound Hill's most famous resident was Robert Smith of the rock band The Cure.

The homes here are some of the more sought after in Crawley, being one of the most affluent areas. It has the largest population with just under 15,000 residents living in some 5,900 households.

Pound Hill has arguably Crawley's most popular road in Milton Mount Avenue, where some properties sell for in excess of £900,000.

Because the combined Pound Hill and Worth area is large, it has a variety of housing stock which is mainly family focused.

A major attraction for many Pound Hill residents is Hazelwick Secondary School(Ofsted), which has achieved excellent grades for many years. Although Hazelwick is situated in Three Bridges, it is right on the border of Pound Hill and large parts of the neighbourhood fall within the catchment area. The two primary schools are highly regarded as well.

Pound Hill and Worth both have good access to Three Bridges mainline station and Gatwick Airport.

Properties in Pound Hill rent very well with a nice two bedroom house normally achieving £1,000-1,100 PCM and a three bedroom semi-detached property achieving £1,300-£1,350 PCM.

Local properties also sell like hot cakes, especially if they are close to Three Bridges station or near to Hazelwick. A three bedroom terraced house would typically sell for around £310,000 with a three bedroom semi-detached around the £350,000 -£360,000 region.
