Maidenbower area guide
One of the newer neighbourhoods in Crawley, Maidenbower is highly sought after by buyers and tenants alike.
Maidenbower has a very modern and clean feel to it and most people who move into the area tend to want to stay there. There is a wide variety of housing from one bed maisonettes costing around £210,000 through to 5/6 bedroom detached properties commanding up to £600,000.
Most of the properties are privately owned, although an increasing number are now tenanted.
The typical owners of property in Maidenbower are young couples or families. Tenants tend to be young professionals or young families, with many commuting to London or working at Gatwick Airport.
There is a small local shopping parade and popular public house/restaurant called the Frogshole Farm.
The local schools are well regarded with Oriel High Secondary School (Ofsted) growing in reputation every year, with a reported very good headmaster.
The immediate transport links are excellent, with Three Bridges mainline station at the entrance to Maidenbower and a dedicated (north-only) junction (J10A) to the M23 giving good access to Gatwick Airport.
Maidenbower also has a popular forum website for its residents.
In a community survey carried out in Crawley in 2008, residents from Maidenbower had "the highest proportion who felt that Crawley was a clean place and that people from different backgrounds get on well together."
